On the Road - Report from Or-i-Gn (Somewhere up North)

Traveling along the Interstate 5. From Eugene up to Portland.
The Willamette Valley in July, it's hayfields and trucks and Haybalers, Some mountains off in the distance to my right a bit of the coastal range way off to my left. The colors are Gold and Green.

I stayed for a full week with Genie, Glenn and Emma with their Chickens and Goats and Garden and Cats. I got my magical experiences every day. Life is something else isn't it?!

Just amazing, what a great little niche to have carved out for themselves. Knowing every neighbor, walking the wooded paths. There was the Oregon Country Fair on Friday...

Highlights... the physical space carved out of the woods, the multigenerational party of Hippie Oregonian or whatever it was or I am. Lot's of beautiful young ladies of great beauty and yes there are topless chicks still usually the ones you might really not be interested in ogling not that I would be interested in that type of immature behaviour. Just have the courage to say something friendly to anyone That's all and yeah I came through a bit, though I was a bit put off by the no beer no drugs admonitions of security, and of course the party starts when the show ends but maybe another year for that.

Highlights Guy!

Oh yes.... Music well I really enjoyed this band at the main stage that I happen to just catch as they were winding down. I think they were called Cast of Clowns, there lead singer seemed to have a certain sort of talent that reminded me of the good singers of the 60's, like I am thinking Quicksilver or Moby Grape.
Then of course I recognized half of his band, as being Marin locals (almost) Greg Anton on Drums formerly of Zero etc., Barry Sless on Pedal Steel of Iron Springs Brewery fame having some special brew named after you is no small honor. Barry in return was wearing his Iron Springs Brewery TShirt. There was Damien Erskine on Bass who used to play in a Fairfax Band 'Garnish' but has been living in the the Northwest for some time now. Anyways I wasn't able to contact any of them Damien might be the only one who might actually know me or remember me.

Great band again my timing was off, caught the last three tunes from The Shook Twins standing almost outside the small stage area trying to peer over shoulders.
These Girls Shook me Up! Hot Hot Hot!!!! Not necessarily Hollywood Movie Star hot - just Hot for being so good and country beautiful as well Google them on youtube or myspace.
Awesome... fun band I want to see them again Soon!

Then the locally famous Girls Circus that my sister persevered in getting us to see. A bunch of Eugene locals during there own unique circus gymnastics with backing, jazz band orchestra, girls chorus ... Cirque de Soleil with vaudevillian humor. They were Marvelous!

So much more.... The dude making Fire was cool, helping stretch deerskin and rubbing it down with Pumice, that was cool.

Eugene was cool, Digging Post Holes with Glenn was cool, visiting Gerald with his Garcia and John Lennon art work on the wall, the yoga class with Nancy Gulp! That was cool. Argghh! Didn't yoga used to be easy? Oh yeah that was when I was in my twenties. Sam Bonds Bar was cool! Nice Bluegrass Jam on Tuesday night.

The Spencer Creek Grange Post #855 ... awesome. A manifestation of the Just Folks revolution working it's magic while some of us ponder could the industrial age really just collapse?

Nahh I doubt it but this other stuff is happening every day. Coming through the cracks in it's own magical way. Wall Street? Sorry boys that's your business. If you have money invest in your local community, with something that doesn't increase the Human Footprint -- that's gotten pretty ugly over the years. Out of cars into bikes... well just a bit more here and there and it all adds up.
