Afternoon at Windfall
There's a cold wind blowing and the sun is sinking down here at Windfall on this Wednesday Afternoon. There is mud, there is ice, there is shivering if you step outside. Lucky you in California.
I am sitting at the computer at the Farmhouse. It is very quiet here as it is a market day in the city. Hector stopped to tell me of his recent trip to Mexico, it's hard living when families are separated by such a distance. Darin was in to show me where the light switch is in this room. My friend Morse has really built a magnificent little operation through the years here at Windfall. He provides excellent greens and root vegetables to NYC residents throughout the year. His contribution as simply a good hearted human being who provides a nucleus for many friends in the Hudson Valley is awesome.
He can be found somewhere on Facebook but I don't think he checks in very often.
My computer is sitting outside, plugged in, just trying to get the bugs out.
Yeah I caught some strange bug of sorts probably while I was up in Maine. Maybe I am about through with that. Not much to say about that this last month has been a major test of my sanity as well as my optimism.. but knock on wood..
Frustrating that my computer is still not quite functional.. more or less like me.

In Wisconsin
a lot of people are really angry at Republicans. Semi, to Barely informed here, but it seems to me that we do need to think about what it is to work for the Government as opposed to a private company. There is not going to be money from that Golden Goose someday, seems like that day is coming sooner than later. The right to organize Unions to bargain with the government over contracts... I don't have the answer. The Government is supposed to represent the People in our ultimate Union, that more perfect Union our Democratic Nation. Do we have a Union for all government workers, maybe just the million in Homeland Security should have the right to strike?
I know that Teacher's deserve to be treated like the force for internal security in this nation that they are and it's very sad to see teacher's laid off anywhere. I believe I read that the Governor of Wisconsin exempted Police and Firemen from his bill and got their support in his bid for election.
Somewhere the people of Noam Chomsky and the people of Ross Perot need to begin some more dialogue. We are going to have to find a creative way through some financial hard times up ahead.
