Thanksgiving

 Hey everyone,
Exactly. Me, Alive though ... as usual wandering...
Just waking up (Drove cab all last night and the 3 previous nights)  I have to catch the 4:30 PM bus out to SA/Fairfax.. Feed the cat. A thanksgiving invite from an unexpected source should be Great fun.
My cel phone stopped working 2 days ago. ATT says they'll ship me a new one, incase someone out there is wondering why I haven't called. I guess I can borrow someone's phone.
Music and blessings and all that fine stuff. We can weather any tide. Life's an adventure.
All that fine rot. Breathing... it's 4:22 out the door byebye.

Wall E - Movie of the Year ? plus ...

I saw the movie 'Wall E' finally this past Sunday afternoon.

Talk about ringing the bell. One mighty swing at one of those ancient giant Gongs --- direct hit he vibrations move out. The most substantially gut level honest, in your face, subversive, revolutionary, brutal assessment of Civilization I believe that has ever been filmed. Hope filled too. That's important.

Did I mention it was beautifully created and must certainly win an Oscar for best animation, but as with Ratatouille, last year's Pixar event it deserves to be considered as a Film of the Year.. no matter how it was created. I hope everyone gets one more opportunity to view it on the big screen... maybe post Oscars it will get one more go round.

It's all right Guy. You've never known where you were going anyways so why start worrying now.

Just pondering this new 'Blog' thing that I have created. I don't understand it. I really fundamentally looked forward to ... Feedback.  know you all are busy and haven't figured out what to make of my musings. I had a plan but have gotten behind as usual with my editing of the Virginia State Fair epic, starring my friend Tom and I, of the shaky camera work fame. Still to early to tell where this film is going. YouTube in essence naturally.

The video that I probably should not have attempted of Honey Dust and Chrome Johnson at the Halloween Party at 19 Broadway sits mostly in the can and will probably if shown at all will need miracle resuscitation of Soundtrack as the Board Mix was a mixed bag... My redundant recording source plan fell apart. All my fault as usual.

I will get it together. I will get it together someday, someday, someday...

Hey I had a fun afternoon at the Farmer's Market in Larkspur Landing this past Saturday Afternoon with my guitar performing for the crowds. Before the event I went over to Bananas at Large and purchased a battery powered PA system like Yuka and Teruki had in Union Square. As I look back on this past year of music, all I can say is... Guy Guy Guy... you are nuts.

The Audacity of ... me.   I had a good time Saturday and I enjoy being completely solo. I am a huge Ham there is no doubt of that. I actually think I am getting it together and believe that after one more year of Farmer's Markets and subjecting children and there poor parents.. Hush up Guy!
NLP for you. ... after one more year I may truly be able to carry a tune, as it is called.

Next week let's get back to what's going on in San Anselmo.

Veterans Day 'Freedom isn't free.'

Like they say 'Freedom isn't free.'

I salute all the Men and Women who have ever served this country.

To my Uncle Andy whose remarkable life was celebrated over this past weekend back in Massachusetts. To all those fine and brave men and women in uniforms thank you for your
courage and your idealism.

For those of us who wear civilian clothing as I have all my life. Our challenge requires courage too though there are no bullets whizzing past our ears. I do not attempt to compare the courage of getting your ass off the couch and making it down to your local Town Hall with being on patrol in a foreign country where people are actively out to kill you, or you them.

 However here, here I am.

What does it take to motivate an American citizen? Perhaps our new President to be will stir new optimism. Maybe the thought of all the Americans in uniform who risk their lives defending our freedom these days in foreign lands might motivate someone. I don't know what it will take, or if we, you or I, can motivate ourselves to take care of business here a home. If we at home won't stand up for Freedom at home and make our voices known then we make the sacrifice of our Veterans a sacrifice in Vain.

Something real and true.. America. America is hurting as an ancient WWII vet told me a few years back, we won the war but lost our country. What his sense of the loss of our Country was might be different than mine or yours. You might as I do on occasion feel that this is my country right now this whole blessed mess, we haven't lost anything. Yet more often than not I experience a sense of loss. As a resident of the great state of California I have seen and continue to see the onslaught of a rampant development that has put profit over People and Country. The statement of a foreman on a development project up in Novato about 10 or 15 years ago still rings in my ear. 'We Fuck America.... don't tell anyone I said that' he told me. He worked for one of these large developers that had building projects working from Coast to Coast. Up in Novato they built these 'garbage' homes for people who dreamed they were millionaires, crowded these oversized mansions together so that each dream home had a nice view across the yard into the neighbors bathrooms. Across the yard, a Guantanamo exercise yard. Bobbleheads in Bubbleland as a farmer in Virginia told me. They sold plenty. Oh you have mortgage problems? Where are we America?

'The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly, is to fill the world with fools'
                                 .. Herbert Spencer

From government Bailouts to government control of Marriage. Freedom isn't free. Think back to the Civil Rights Movement. The sacrifice and courage of those who put their life on the line. That's what we are fighting for America. How can the government rule on a Spiritual decision involving Human Beings. Yes I have my aversions to Gay love, call it what you will. No I didn't see Brokeback Mountain. I don't enjoy watching Men kiss each other. I have an aversion
to that stuff you can analyse me if you want. 'That's their business.' as an elderly woman told me once. That's their business, a human being has the right to know Love. I may not understand it in my own conceptions of passion but I understand that every Human has a right to be human. They have a right to be respected by the Law and not be denied the protection of constitutional and American rights of Life Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

There are all kinds of battles up ahead to fight for Freedom and to defend the USA. I believe the starting place is here at home. Find a home, live in a community, get connected, grow and
take part in the civic battleground of life, hopefully using much more intelligence, humor than anger, but turn back towards your own world. (Yes.. I am still trying to take my own advice)

I think that the last tyrannies to be conquered are Man's beliefs that he can control Nature and Man's belief that Military (Brute Force) solutions can defeat enemies. Does General Petraeus as well as the man who was the source of the Christian religion agree with me? Come on people let's do some positive thinking.

American Pride

Proud moment in American history. That's who we are, this is the USA, Change happens. Sometimes dynamic change. Always slow change.

   Congratulations to Barack Obama.
You don't have to govern 'Center Right' nor 'Center Left', Barack.
You are free to do what is right.
Just get your head occasionally free from your staff of advisors.

The independence movement that the American people needs, has to be initiated from the ground up. Good leadership is a fine thing, though maybe hard to recognize for most of us.

The Change has to happen in us.. somehow. The demand from those looking up to the Great Leader, for Obama to now show us, prove it -- maybe we/I, need to if  not replace then at least temper this by a stronger sense of our/my own power to make a difference. Come what may.

Phew..  I am getting exhausted listening to my words.
Peace, Music and Breathe. One step at a time. Take it easy.

As an African American woman said to me in the taxi last night 'I hope he does something good for 'Green'. I hope so too. Let's all keep working on doing good for 'Green'.

Last night John McCain gave us all a glimpse of leadership and the full content of his character, in his moment of defeat, he rose.
