Manufacturing 'Hate' or ...

Headline after Headline .. story after story.. I keep finding the same results.

The Headline : Asian Hate Crime ... The story: another mentally ill Homeless Person on the loose.

Are  these stories fostering/reinforcing an atmosphere of Fear?

Does fear induce aggression?

Do news outlets feel an obligation to put 'Hate' in the headline?

Do news organizations capitalize on scary headlines? The more likely a person will click through, generating income for the 'News' source? They catch me repeatedly.

 Todays example..

 https://patch.com/california/sananselmofairfax/s/hiyvl/bay-area-anti-asian-hate-crime-probed

and I google to see what is another example for today and I get this story....
How can you ignore this?

https://abc7news.com/slap-an-asian-challenge-bay-area-san-francisco-stop-hate/10450222/

ABC news presents a frightening story, except where is any evidence?

This one tweet of an anonymous, 'you heard it on the internet', good enough for ABC TV...

'I’m hearing there’s a “slap an Asian” challenge going on with the youths in the Bay Area now. ' This one tweet ... 'I'm hearing' well dude, copy the Tweet or FB or whatever you heard, wherever you heard it as evidence and share it if you are real or it is real

Terrible journalism pumping oxygen into a story that appears to be a fabrication.

Asian people are loved in America... Black People are Loved in America. Blue People are Loved in America! Fat people are loved in America! Skinny People are loved in America!

You may not believe it. It is far more accurate than this pandemic of fear whose motivation seems to be...

'....lets perpetuate a world of enemies. Maybe I can be perceived as a hero if I can point out as much
hate as I can possibly find. Maybe I can help my news outlet be heroic as well as help them make money. Maybe we can rise up and defeat our 'enemies'   ... enemies? You know. Those guys over there, they are full of hate...'  are they?

    Who is dividing who?

God! Love that band!

I don't know why I got started with this post. Who am I, to tell you who I am.
On the other hand maybe I do have some insight that you don't have. Let me imagine a
a world that peacefully accepts the contributions of any and all of us without too much harsh
judgement knowing that I may be as much a mystery as you ... and we all are babes with eyes
are eyes open in wide wonder trying to understand our role in this Universe.

May the Universe be with you.

We have to try. To expand the circle, to live a circle to .....

Letter to the Marin IJ published April 5 ....

Keep local control for Marin housing projects

Is it too late to rescue California and our country in order to rekindle a memory of American ideals?

On what basis have we stripped local jurisdictions of much of their discretion, power and authority to review and approve residential housing projects? We are American citizens born with certain inalienable rights. How did we surrender these rights to the greater power of Sacramento?

Are we providing for our children’s future by trading off local self-determination for the supposed security of addressing the housing crisis? Is the experiment in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness over now? Have we achieved some higher wisdom or practicality?

There is a corruption of our ideals making its way through American culture and California is leading the way. It is deceptively packaged in what seems a noble sentiment, that we are an improved people when we relinquish individual rights for the greater good. This is not a sound philosophy. This does not improve the spiritual, intellectual well-being of citizens. It is contrary to what American ideals have striven to uphold over generations.

Communities are enriched when the population is made up of educated responsible citizens who exercise their full powers to affect change and to protect what they love. Mandates from Sacramento or Washington, D.C. (or Beijing or Moscow) diminish the spirit, independence and creativity of their people.

No one knows more of what’s best for your community than your community. There is no one who knows what’s best for you but you. It’s not necessarily easy but we must stand up on behalf of our communities and our civil rights.
