I haven't been able to find after a cursory search on the internet tonight what the scene has looked like in the last 5, 10 or 20 years but no wonder California is in the State it is. What is remarkable about it is how long this has been hidden from the highly moral Liberal leadership from Marin to Hollywood... or is it all part of 'Citizen Denial'.

@John Olmstead Thanks. Well I signed the Recall Newsom petition today. At first I said nahh.. thinking it was too rash of me but after a few minutes of conversation I realize. There is something too mentally ill about the whole way California is run. Liberty of course means we also bear (Grr!) a huge responsibility That is what people need to assess and decide how do they/we/I do my part.

I think opening up California by May 2021 will probably depend on this recall effort. This is not the Black Plague... It's God's gentle tap on the shoulder. Flattening the curve to me is getting back down to Earth. Birth rates/immigration rates .... give nature and a few thousand life species besides us a chance to recover from our 'party'. Though I do have faith in Nature I realize we have an obligation and a path before us. The obligation might seem to carry some weight of self-sacrifice but the path of embracing a greater local lifestyle offers an opportunity to have a better party than ever. That's been my belief for quite awhile.

.... So we have this mandate for growth. Based on the needs of new immigrants, never ending new immigrants. To the tune of up to Covid time, about 80,000 new residents (per year) just in the greater Bay Area ...At the same time we have this beautiful goal of reducing Carbon Emissions.... at the same time we have 40% of America's homeless. At the same time we trumpet Sanctuary to every desperate soul in Central America..

At the same time we decry Trump and Climate deniers. While our climate goes to hell. Yet we can't quite put 2 and 2 together and see that endless growth is a program of Disaster. Is a program of ever increasing Environmental Destruction and that it is We. Glorious Blue State California ( I would have it get back to being Red White and Blue for some balance and sanity) that holds the Golden Key that has responsibility and means to lead the world, but not if we stay in denial.

California is becoming an ugly wreck. Horrendous traffic that impacts all of our Quality of Life, certainly no proud accomplishment to turn over to the next generation. Over-population is the bottom line of most of the world's problems. It's no secret. Why not begin to address it or we keep our head buried in the sands of political correctness.

 I definitely think we need to question

everything these days. Those who denounce you or I or anyone for asking an 'ignorant' or 'impolite' question or posing a view contrary to the popular opinion, I believe are missing out on the very premise of this marvelous, evolving and precarious experiment called Democracy or a Republic or the USA (by various names). Not only missing out but are enforcing conformity, compliance, and fear. 

More than one friend has pointed me to our Constitution and it's Bill of Rights. Directed me to consider whether these blueprints for the rights and actions of all citizens were possibly designed not just for the days when everything is going smooth. That instead, the Constitution and Bill of Rights were designed to protect and entrust we citizens when things are rough, weird or going off the rails. This is a notion unparalleled on the Planet. The Rights and the Powers of it's citizens are not to be discarded in an Emergency signed over to those who know better. That the very passage through whatever difficult time we encounter, will be aided by the continued exercise of our own Liberties.

 Regarding questioning Elections. I believe all Americans concerns are valid.
